Pinelake Celebrates President's Day |
|
Peak Resources - Pinelake helped celebrate President's Day at their facility by putting on a skit for the residents. The skit was about four former presidents sitting in Heaven watching the affairs of the United States through a special heavenly television hookup and discussing what they see. President George Washington was played by Betty Rush, a long-time activity volunteer, President Theodore Roosevelt was played by Carole Wunderlin from the activities department, President George Washington was played by Director of Nursing Tracy Estelow, and President John F. Kennedy was played by Administrator Bernard Bryant. The residents really enjoyed the costumes that the "Presidents" wore and the skit was followed by lots of clapping and compliments!

Peak Helps with Haiti Relief Efforts |
|
Peak Resources and Lumiere Medical Ministries joined together to send much needed medical supplies to the country of Haiti in the aftermath of the terrible earthquake that hit the country on January 12, 2010. Deborah Lygren, RN and Lead Nurse Consultant with Peak Resources put out the challenge to all 6 of the Peak Resources facilities to gather supplies and medical equipment that each building would like to donate. Vendors were encouraged to participate and Mark Overcash with Hartmann-Conco Inc. answered our call by bringing us lots of bandages. In all Peak Resources took over 20 boxes to Lumiere Medical Ministries that included water, gatorade, baby formula, Boost, syringes, exam gloves, suture kits, disposable stethescopes, gauze, wipes and many other medical supplies. Lumiere plans to send the supplies to Haiti with their staff in the next few weeks.

Peak Resources - Cherryville hosted a "Winter Thaw" at their facility on January 21, 2010. They invited residents and their families and friends to come and enjoy winter activities throughout the facility. The staff decorated the facility with "snow" complete with their own ski slope. Families were asked to bring their favorite Hors d' oeuvres or dessert. They also had hot chocolate and apple cider. Some of the residents even enjoyed helping or watching the staff go sledding!
