Community Blood Drive at Peak Resources - Charlotte |

Peak Resources - Charlotte is proud to give back to those in the community. In an effort to do our part, we are hosting our annual blood drive courtesy of Community Blood Center of the Carolinas (CBCC) on July 28th, 2010 from 11:30 - 2:00 pm at the facility located at 333 Hawthorne Lane. As you know, the need for blood is never ending. Did you know that one pint of whole blood can save as many as 3 lives? About 1 in 7 people entering the hospital need blood. CBCC supplies more than 90% of the blood required to Charlotte area hospitals such as Carolina’s HealthCare Systems, NorthEast Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital, and Piedmont Medical Center. Please join our staff’s effort to support those local patients within our community and visit our facility, you may save someone’s life. |

Cherryville and the American Red Cross Honor Our Veterans |

 On April 23, 2010 the American Red Cross - Gaston County Chapter presented Peak Resources - Cherryville with a grant to help us honor our veterans. The grant was used to purchase four remote-controlled helicopters and airplanes for our veterans to enjoy at the facility. Peak Resources - Cherryville invited the Burns Senior High ROTC to Post the Colors and Ms. April Bryant, an employee at Peak Resources Cherryville, sung the National Anthem. The Mayor Pro Tem, Gert Fisher, gave a welcome and Rev. Leonard Bumgardner did the Invocation.
Families and staff were invited to enjoy the festivities that honored Clyde Bramlett, Andrew Holt, Edward Popilock, Leonard Coggins, Albert McCarter, and Bob Raxter. The American Legion Post 100 came by and folded an American flag which they presented to the facility and also played taps on the bugle. It was truly an honor for us to have the opportunity to honor these fine gentlemen and their sacrifices for our country. |
